Questions? Winnie got spayed on Wed, came home yesterday am. Today she has started acting

like she has a UTI. She is urinating frequently and definitely has urgency. When we take her out she squats to pee several times with little drips coming out. Her surgical site looks good. Appetite is great, but she is having some diarrhea. I made an appointment for the vet tomorrow. Any suggestions till then???

perhaps

Sometimes the bladder gets "bumped" when the vet is feeling around for the uterus and its horn, to perform the hysterectomy and it could be that this caused a feeling of irritation manifested in the urge to pee...but she should have her urine checked to be sure. If the vet wasn't careful, he 'nicked' the bladder, which I think seldom happens, but if so, it could heal well or she could have weak-bladder-issues for a lifetime (worst case scenario). Hopefully its a little nervousness or light infection. The diarrhea could be from nerves. Perhaps they fed her at the clinic if she stayed overnight and the different food caused some mild temporary upset re the diarrhea.
