Question about switch from puppy to adult food.

Harley just turned 6 mths old and it's time to switch to adult food. He was on Royal Canin puppy from the breeder and we have kept him on that as he has done well. We bought the Royal Canin Medium Bulldog and started the gradual transition. When we first start mixing a bit with the puppy formula he started having stools that were a bit looser than normal. Then as we gradually made the complete switch his stools went from a bit loose to projectile diarrhea. After two days of that we switched back to the puppy formula and stools returned to firm normal.
We had originally thought when time to switch we would try some of the grain free varieties frequently recommended on this site. A month or so ago had purchased small bags of Natural Balance formulas. Harley, who eats everything, would snub his nose at these.
This weekend at our local Petco I checked what other varieties were available. Other than the Natural Balance, I only saw Wellness brands, and saw that Eukanuba also now has some "wild" grain free foods. We live in a pretty rural area so Petco is about the only pet store that is close.
Has anyone tried the Eukanuba foods?
Any input and recommendations are very much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks a bunch! That helps me decide to try the

Natural Balance Duck next. Slower transition this time. I also just found out that a local feed store sell TOTW. So, if the Natural Balance doesn't work, that will probably be next.

Thanks for help! I think I might give the Natural Balance

Duck the next try. Do it a bit slower this time with a bit of pumpkin and see if he likes it more than the venison. I did find out tonight that a local feed store carries TOTW. That might be the second try if the Duck doesn't work. I really hope we find something that works without the runs included happy.gif.

We used to use Natural Balance duck potato for...

one of our guys that had allergies. He did really well on it and I know Petco carries it. Do the transition very slowly over a two week period, add in 1/4 cup of new for a 1/4 cup of old for a few days and then increase to a 1/2 cup. Maybe add in a tablespoon of regular canned pumpkin to help firm things up. We had a lot of trouble with Chester going from puppy to adult food, he would get diarhea every time we switched. We finally wound up feeding him hamburger, rice and green beans until he was almost a year old and then we put him on a low fat kibble for a few months and then finally got him on TOTW fish and he's fine now. I thought he'd never get over the runs.
