Puppy with no genitals Diagnosis Hypospadia

Not sure if you remember my email about my male pup who had no visible genitals. Now 6 weeks he has been diagnosed with hypospadia. The vein under the skin did break open, and a penis is there but no urine comes out and there is an opening behind the penis that has to be closed. The urine comes out a hole down below where the female parts would be.

He will have surgery when he gets nuteured at 4-6 months. I need to find a board certified surgeon.

Has anyone had this surgery done on their dog or heard of this diagnosis? Any recomendations for a surgeon in NJ?

Thanks for your help![linked image]

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED VETS NEAR NJ

I would go to Pennsylvania to Dr. Orsher in Langhorne, PA. Awesome vet, little pricey but awesome. Veterinary Specialty Services, don't know the number. Otherwise Richmond Valley Animal Hospital on Staten Island would be where I would go. Little bit of a drive but worth every penny and time.

NJ Vets

I use Garden State Veterinary Specialists. They are excellent. Located in Tinton Falls NJ. I only use the owner, Dr. Scavelli. Very Very good. I am sure they all are good. You can try calling them (732) 922-0011. I had other survery than yours, but I bet they can do your necessary surgery. Good luck.

I know someone on here dealt with a hermaphrodite pup,

but I don't think I have heard anyone mention this condition. I am glad he got a diagnosis and I hope you find a great surgeon to help him.

and looks like you saw one post..you can still call and discuss thsi with me or if you email me your number i will call you and offer any advice or sugestions. I have free long distance.

that opening- the hypospadius is somewhat of a different hypospadius than humans because the shaft of the penis was covered at birth on your pup, if i remember correctly and i hear most are...
this is why surgery should be done. the risk of it tearing all the way open is great, as you can see in the puppy pics i posted. not fun if this is injured.

did you ever get all of my post, this is still a hermaphrodite p

regardless of hypospadius. My son was born with hypospadius is just a fancy term for an abnormal opening of the uresthra along the shaft of the penis.

but Bulldogs who are hermaphodites are exaclty as you describe and we are seeing more of them in my area...and have it pin pointed as to what breeder is responsible for them (at least those in my area and in rescue)

You can email me and i did post a huge long post last time you posted with picstures...i will se if i can dig it up..

surgery doesnt have to be done by some fancy specialist. And my vet is willing to help another vet if we connect them together on this matter.

Re: Puppy with no genitals Diagnosis Hypospadia

Can't help with a vet but if he can urinate with no problem. and he is a pet why even bother with repair? I have a son that had hypospadis, and if he were a dog I would not have bothered with surgery. Just my opinion.
