Puppies not eating

Yesterday was a good day, these 2 puppies have had problems since birth. They are gaining weight and will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. Sometimes they eat well, maybe 2 feedings per day out of feeding them every 3 hours around the clock. Today they are not eating and one is very pale. I have tube feed them about 12cc's each. I had them to the vet 3 times already. They are on clavamox for upper respitory infection for 1 week now.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, most importantly, how much formula should they be getting and how often?

Thanks,
Sheryl

Try a little nutrical or Karo Syrup...

to give them a sugar boost.

They may not be eating well because you're feeding them to often and they're just not hungry.

I feed every 3 hours the first 7 days, every 4 hours the next 7 days and then every 5 hours the next 7 days. At 3 weeks old, if they're standing pretty well, I start them on baby rice cereal with goats milk and a little strained lamb.

Good luck,

Sue

I agree...you may be over-feeding them.

They shouldn't need to be fed every 3hrs at three weeks old.
