I was about to buy a buddy belt, based upon some of the reviews and previous threads on here. I wanted to see if anybody used a Puppia harness and what their success is? It's much cheaper then the Buddy, so I was curious.

Hi,
I have a rather petite female bully who weighs about 45 pounds. She wears a puppia harness when we go anywhere further than around the block. Some of the puppia harnesses are made of mesh (like a basketball jersey), so it doesn't bother her even on hot days to wear it. The XL size harness fits her well.

let me know how you like it and if it fits. What size did you get? Is your bully full grown? What colour is your bully and what colour BB did you get? Nosey aren`t I?

I dont think even the XL would fit a bulldog . Also, its a fabric harness, so if your guy is a puller, a puppia wouldnt be a good option. Go with the leather

I ended up getting a size 8. I have a female and she's right around 40 lbs. I don't think she's going to get real large her parents were smaller..
Her girth is right around 25, so it will be a little big for a bit probably but will hopefully be the only one I need.
I purchased it from a buyer on ebay and asked about the liners and she's providing a free set as a nice gesture (how nice I thought!)
Believe it not, Bella is basically black and white with a little grayish brindle on her face and back legs.. I know it's unusual since it's not show color, most at the meetups I attend are always skeptical if she's a purebread, but she is. I'm not sure how she was made that color, her mom was brown and her dad was brindle. All the others in the litter were brindled. I'll get a pic with her in it. I picked up Black, although i did want to get some of the fancy colors - maybe next time.

I have had a buddy belt harness now for 4 years. Yes it was costly but it is still like new. It is made of high quality leather, leather lined, and they sell soft leather liners for $5.00 if it is bugging your bully`s pits. I no longer use the liners. The top buckle is very strong and the D ring slides from side to side so when your bully is on one side of you or the other, it moves over.I wish I could post a pic to show you. (don`t know how) My boy is a dark red brindle/white and the BB is red. Very flashy and I love that there is no pull on his trachea. Do not buy one until your bully is full grown, too costly to buy two. My boy is a small 42-44lb and wears a size 8. Most of my friend`s bullies wear a 9.

the inserts were really just when it was new. The leather is a bit stiff, then it works in like a pair of shoes. Mr. Higgins has worn his along the beach, into the water also in his pool. I just wipe it dry and it is good as new. If I could figure out how to post a pic,you could see him in it. Oh well. Are you in Canada or south of the border? I paid $128.00 can. but if you are in Canada we have Woofstock every June and they are much cheaper there.

for both of my pugs. It seems to work really well for the. I have used my male pug's harness on Maverick (bully) to try it out before I buy him one too. He seems to do well on it. He is only 15 weeks though. Here is a pic of my puggies and their puppia harness. My mom calls then their bras. LOL

She is being silly and snuggling.

I'll have to post some pics and my thoughts after I get it in.
Thanks for all the advice.

puppia
Just looked at their website. I have seen this on small dogs. IMHO the front is too high up on the neck for a bully. It is cute though.

the best investment of all

I've never used either one
of those names but we've tried a number of collars/harnesses etc., With my boy any harness just makes him want to pull more. =(

The best one that I have found over the last 3 years is the Martingale Style. Here's a link:

Yes, I was going to buy the buddy, and my friend who has a pug said I might want to try the puppia one instead since it's so much cheaper.
I probably will end up with both before it's over and have two options for her.
Did you find you needed to use the inserts with the buddy at first because of irritation and if so did that help?
Also how do you clean it, just wipe it off I assume since it's leather?
Thanks
