Ellie Mae and Max would eat very fast also(especially Ellie Mae). I was enjoying looking through here one day and I ran across someone with the same issue. It was suggested to this person to spread the food all around on the floor, that way they would be forced to eat slower. It workes! I do it for every feeding now....it also helps them to not overeat.Nothing like recycled good advice. LOL Hope this helps

My suggestion is to get a good sized rock, like the size of a softball, and put it in his food bowl. He'll have to chase the food around the rock and it will slow down his eating.
