Prayers please

Our Fergie, a rescue we've had four weeks, was just diagnosed with lymphoma. This has been a very upsetting day for us. Please pray for her - the vet says she has 3 weeks left. We're also seeking any wisdom about people whose bullies have had lymphoma. What can be done? We don't want to prolong her pain, but want to make her as comfy as possible.

To make matters even worse...this is my husband and I's second bullie in only 2 months. I know it sounds shady, but it's not. The first one had to be put up for rescue (serious health issues), so we thought we'd learned and bought from a reputable breeder, but now we're losing her too.

Please pray for her, and for us. This is tearing us to pieces.

Re: Prayers please

Wishing you much strength at this difficult time. Lavish her with alot of attention and love. My prayers and thoughts will be with all of you during this difficult time.

Bec..I lost my Rottie to lymphoma...

Just do what you can to keep her comfy...feed her what she wants..and when you look into her eyes and see that she no longer has that sparkle..it will be time to let her go. It happened here almost 5 years ago...and I still remember it like it was yesterday. If you need to talk... my e-mail is eval(unescape('%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%64%65%6c%69%6c%61%68%40%73%6e%65%74%2e%6e%65%74%22%3e%64%65%6c%69%6c%61%68%40%73%6e%65%74%2e%6e%65%74%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b'))

So sorry

Bec,

I dont have any experience with lymphoma in dogs. I am sorry that all of you are going through this.

Hugs to Fergie, poor little girl

Wishing you all peace and strength...

I'm curious...you mentioned buying the dog from a reputable breeder and you also described her as a "rescue dog"...which is it? Or am I being dense...but I associate the term "rescue dog" with an organized/BCA affiliated rescue group rather than an individual breeder...and all the groups I know of and/or work with will euthanize the dog for you because of her dire health and not wanting her to suffer either...and most will offer you another bulldog just as soon as you want one...at least that's how we operate...when someone is kind enough to take an older/sick dog thru her/his final days in peace and love, we show our appreciation by replacing that dog as soon as reasonably possible.

I don't want to add to your grief by questioning you but if you have the inclination to respond, either to me directly or on this board, I'd like your thoughts. Meanwhile, do what is reasonable...that's all any of us can ask for. "The impossible" is out of our hands. Hugs to you for caring so. -E.
