Posted on Genl forum too...elongated palate question

Hooch had such good breathing, rarely panted, when we first adopted him. Now he pants much more easily (he was in the sun for 5 min. when it was only 60 degrees and was panting hard) with that raspy sound. His lungs sound find vet says.
Vet said mild elongated palate could show symptoms later on (he's about 5). We are seeing vet tonight for his ear so I will discuss further with him, but wondering at what point you all would sedate and have palate examined?
