possible hives??

This morning I noticed a pink spot on Oscars neck, I figured he had got bit. Then he started rubbing his body on our living room chair & along the wall. I felt his sides & realized he had a bunch of little bumps. I couldn't see them since 90% of his body is brown, but I could definitely feel them. My husband gave him a bath & then I gave him 2 benadryl (he weighs 55 lbs). The bumps went down & he was definitely sleepy most of the day. I don't know if he got bit by something or if he has an allergic reaction to something. He is starting to rub his body on the chair again. Is it ok to give him 2 more benadryl?

Also his wrinkles under both his eyes have been soooo wet these past few days. I have been cleaning them with a baby wipe, drying with a cotton pad & applying Gold Bond Powder. They look ok after I do this, but then a few hours later I see they are wet again. I don't know what else to do. How long does it usually take doing this method for them to clear up?

His wrinkle between his eyes which is REALLY deep I noticed tonite is all red. I put some Neosporin in it.

Any input would be SO aprreciated

thanks

You can give two 25 mg benedryls...

every 8 hours.  If you bathe him, make it a cool bath, that will soothe the itchies.

For the eye folds

After you clean, put some diaper rash ointment with a Q-tip in there (I tend to dollop it right under the inside corner of the eye - just be careful not to get it in the eye).  This will help protect the fold from further moisture.  Warning: most bullies are convinced that Desitin ointment is poison and will do face dives into your carpeting and furniture to rub it off! lol  Some dogs tolerate the Aveeno diaper ointment better. :)
