I recently took my two bulldogs to bulldog bash 2009. We had a excellent time, but my male has seem to wore parts of his back tow pads off his feet, and now he can't hardely walk. He is breaking my heart to see him limpimg around. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this, or had any ideas of what i could do to help him out. If anyone would like to see pics, look under general forum Lonna, Jerry, and harley post a beautifull slide show. The male of mine is the one up on the fence giving a little kid a kiss!
Thanks for the suggestion...
I would imagine a tattoo healing is very similar to raw paw pads on a dog...possible blistering, tenderness, and a need to protect the new skin while it 'toughens up'.

Thanx !
When i read your post i thought with the vasoline, and vitamin e, it sounded like the same things that would be good to sooth tatoos. So i had a extra can of tatoo wax from my wife so i thought I would try that. As of today he is a lot better, not limping, and starting to heal. So i guess if anyone else has this problem ever this might be a good thing to try.

A few suggestions...
first of all, keep him off hot pavement. Putting Bag Balm or Vaseline may cause him to slip around the wooden or tile floors for a bit but it may also help with some healing. Can you put on a pair of kids socks, held on with some not-too-tight masking tape? Vitamin E oil, gently rubbed into the pads may also help healing...these are treatments we use for dry/cracked noses but it should work fairly well on raw paw pads as well.
