please help

i picked up a 6 yr old bully today that was given to me. i was told she has no medical problems and that pretty much she has had 3 litters and needed a forever home. she is very calm and has been all day. but she has been panting alot since we got home around 1pm...she has drank lots of water and has had 2 small helpings of food....she finally fell asleep about 30 mins ago and is breathing really fast shallow breaths with a slight snore...when she woke up she went right into panting again....this is not my 1st bullie...altho it is my only bullie at the time....any suggestions?

Check her airways

Is not comon for a Bulldog to weak up panting.

when our's does that is because theirs airways are a bit obstruct.
we recomended to give a small biscuit right after wake up to swallow the phlegm.

Phlemg means snore also.

good luck

she will.....

she just has to get use to it all. When we do an adoption, we tell the adoptors to give it some time...could take weeks....for her to fully feel comfortable with what has happened to her.

I have a rescue Cocker Spaniel. First thing she did was pee on my carpet. My other Cocker Spaniel, Floyd, HATED her. It took some time but then she became Floyd's best friend and now Zoey's.

What I am trying to say is that it just takes time. Believe me, the rescued ones know how lucky they are....

Thank you for giving her a home

It may take her a couple of weeks to settle in but she'll be OK I'm sure. You might also try rescue remedy to help with the stress of a new home until she settles in.

I do not know her background, but...

I am guessing she is pretty stressed out. Goodness knows where she came from and it is a major adjustment for her to come to your wonderful forever home. Panting would definitely fit in with her new scene. It may take her a few days to 'get used to' her new surroundings.

Isn't it great that she got to your place? A calm, quiet atmosphere for her now. Thank you for what you have/are doing.

I bet she's nervous

Bulldogs like their routines and she's in a new home and probably nervous. I would give her some benadryl to help her rest. Tomorrow will probably better.
