it could be food allergy, detergent, cleaners or fabric softeners. Febreeze would cause a rash breakout, carpet cleaners, allergic to grass or some kind of plants if he's been outdoors. If you change food recently then it could be his food or if you give him any new treats, or allergic to his shampoo when you bathe him.
Give a benadryl according to weight, don't know how many lbs your dog weight but I give half a benadryl to my frenchie who weighs 25 lbs 2x a day. Wash the area in warm water do not use soap, pat dry and rub a layer of Desitin(original forumla), put a tshirt on him and repeat this before bedtime so 2x a day for 3 days until gone. When you reapply, remember to wash the area again.
If it's the food, my boys are doing very well on the Orijen chicken forumula and I use Malaseb shampoo to bathe them once a week.

this also reminds me a bit of sarcoptic mange along with some yeast, staph and who knows what else.
I emailed him to have the dog cultured and possibly biosy to know what type of infection he is dealing with instead of playing the medication game as he has been.

I don't know..
I've only seen the pics. Mike says he's been on antibiotics and pred for months.

The dog is now not eating or drinking much and he is lethargic. I advised him to go to a different vet TODAY.
