However, recent studies have indicated that hydrogen peroxide is toxic to new cells and is therefore not recommended for wound care

many offices now use hibiclens now vs peroxide and betadine.
I know our wound care center will not use peroxide at all

To those who understand no explanation is needed. To those who don't no explanation is possible.

We got our at the Target Pharmacy
We didn't need a prescription for it, but at least at our local store, it is kept behind the pharmacy counter.

it works wonderful for taking blood out of clothing, and the car
you can mix with water and use it, just not 100%
mix about 50/50

This isn't a recent discovery
It's been well known among biologists and medical professions. I remember learning about this in my Biology classes several years ago.

good to know. What would it be used for?
is there any recommended use for it?

in the first aid section. I think you can get it at drugstores, but I haven't seen it at my grocery store. You can also get it at drugstore.com:

Where do you get hibiclens?
I have always used hydrogen peroxide and always thought the bubbles were killing all the bad stuff! So where can I find hibiclens?

We keep both hydrogen peroxide and hibiclens on hand. I am a big fan of hibiclens and have used it on myself. So far, we have only used the hydrogen peroxide to clean our tile grout, so I guess we will keep it for that purpose and use the hibiclens if Ajax needs it.

one of the new studies says dont use peroxide
with cat gut suture (disolvable) as it breaks down the suture.

Things change daily, so what was right yesterday is wrong today and vise verse. So much to keep up on.

good to know..
I usually clean with antibacterial soap or Nolvasan Otic, but I have used 3% hydrogen peroxide too.

When I broke my arm a few years ago, the surgeon had me use HP along with Neosporin several times a day on the areas where I had pins sticking out (3 spots). I have no scar on two of the spots and the third one is very faint. I wonder if this is a recent discovery or if he just disagrees with the advice out there.
