Peeing question....(also posted on gen. forum)

So Deuce is almost 9 months old and I can't remember the last time he had an accident on the floor in the house...HOWEVER.....a few times he has peed on our bed??!! He just did it today, I was watching a TV show, he jumped on the bed and peed a huge pee!! He has done this before a few times, it is not a regular occurrence but it sure does suck when it does happen. He does not sleep in our bed with us, he never had. He sleeps in his crate in our bedroom. Why would he do this??

Misbehavior

is the likely reason...rather than accidental peeing due to a bladder infection. He's at the age of sexual maturity (8-12mos) and some dogs 'confuse' their role in the heirarchy of the household. This is more likely to happen when there is more than one animal in the family, but it can be a one-dog issue too. The answer is to keep him off the bed (and off the couch too if this seems likely to tranfer there) since this is viewed as a privilege nesting spot for the "House Alpha". YOU should remain 'King of the Mountain' and without having to get too formal about it, just keep him closer to the ground. happy.gif
