otc LH test kits?
Submitted by hezzbullies on April 21, 2010 - 12:10amHas anyone ever tried using the Ovulation kits that you buy over the counter? I think I am going to experiment with them and wondered if anyone here has done the same thing.
The detect a rise in LH, and ovulation occurs 24-36 hours after. Then I was thinking of breeding on days 2,5,and 6 after a positive test.
What do you think?

Really, nobody??
I am really surprised that nobody has responded to this, with as many breeders that we have on this board.
I know that vets test for progesterone, but LH surge happens at the same time and is detectable in urine. So, rather than pay the vet for progesterone testing, I purchased the OTC ovulation test kit, with 7 tests included for $15. When I get a positive result, I will breed on days 4 and 6.
If anyone has any experience in this or just advice, I would love to hear it.
