oscar is recovering from surgery

so oscar had entropion surgery yesterday. our vet said it was the worst he has seen sad.gif
poor oscar!! he threw up a few times last night & once this morning. he is wearing the comfy cone, but not liking it too much. i am so nervous, his right eye was worse then the left & it is pretty swollen. the vet gave us ointment, pain medication & antibiotics. i'm hesitant to put the ointment in his eyes & also to put warm compresses on them to clear the goo. is it ok if i wait a few days to put the ointment in? i also bought a few cans of wet food since i thought his throat would be sore from the tube. how long does the throat soreness take to heal?

thanks happy.gif

Maria, I would apply the ointment as prescribed.....because,

if you don't, that goo will dry and hardened and you will have a real mess to clean.

I also had this done and know how sore it looks and the fear of touching/applying anything right now.

I would be very careful with the amount of water and food intake tonight.

And most of all, don't remove the collar no matter how sad he looks. It just takes him trying to scratching at it once and tearing it open.

Good luck Oscar..better days are ahead.

Maria, make sure you do use the ointment

as directed. Your Doc prescribed it to help...it will do just that:-)

Amy and Sophia

Use any drops or ointment as prescribed...

you do not want any type of infection to set up.
