Ok my friends I need help asap please....

Angel had 7 puppies thursday evening... by 1:00 am began panting ( she did this alot her last week also).... it is Monday very early morning and she is still panting 75% of the time... short shallow panting, took her to the vet Sunday am and she was given injections of antibiotic, dex, and a diuretic (supposedly to help her drink because the only water she is taking in is out of a spray bottle.... she has no fever and eats fine but the panting is killing me!!!! Does anyone have a clue????? The vet says hormones but this girl is exhausted and I am REALLY worried about her !!!!! Please anyone with advice or a similar situation respond... you can also email me or call 816*726*7762... thanks guys your the best !!!!! Hope this makes sense, sleep deprivation has hit hard :O)

Pain will also make them behave like this

give her a remadyl. Lil spikes a fever when she is in pain, right after puppies she will go up to 104.0 and give her 1 pain pill and she is down to 100.

Hydration

Sometimes we "tricked" Duchess with low sodium, fat free chicken broth. The scent will entice them to drink. We also put crushed ice in her water bowl. As said before, letting her out to move around abit can also "move things along". If you noticed her breasts swelling, that also may be a part of it, as hormones can play havoc with them. Was she administered any Oxytocin, prior to coming home? or was it given to you to administer?

Perserverance isn't a long race.
It's a series of short races,
ran one after the other.

Just a thought....Could it be...

that her milk is really coming in?? My bitch just went thru this, and she did the same thing, panting, panting panting, her milk really dropped down to where I was worried she might be developing mastitis. I put a fan on her, had a nice water bottle full of water. Believe me, it was driving me nuts, as I am sleeping/staying in the same room 24/7, and I thought something was wrong also. Otherwise, my bitch was acting normally.

I know its late at night but any chance you can get her

outside for some slow walking? If she does indeed have gas from the panting, perhaps a little gentle movement will help her move it...up an down the driveway twice, slowly? Be sure to wipe her paws and teats when she comes inside. If she isn't drinking you need to get liquids into her (after the walk) so soak her food or mix in some yogurt or softened vanilla ice cream...anything this evening that may break the cycle.
