Need some advice please!!!!

I need some help on a few differant things. First of all I have posted on here a long time ago, but just to tell you a little bit. I have 6 Bulldogs whom I love dearly but need some help with a few things about them.

1. One of my dogs that is 6 years old has always had bad allergies and until I found this site I did not know it was because of his food. I have tried Natural Balance Venison and Sweet Potato, Duck and Fish and Sweet Potato, also Taste of the Wild Salmon. The Natural Balance worked for a month or so each but then he started breaking out again. So my question is what kind of food does he need to be on?

2. I was given a bulldog 2 weeks ago by someone that was not able to take care of her and when I got her from them they were feeding her cheap stuff from Wal-Mart(Kibbles and Bits) she looked great other than she needed to gain a few pounds. When I got her I changed her food to Natural Balance and she is broke out loosing hair from scratching so much so I don't know what to do. Should I give her the Wal-Mart food again?

3. With all the dogs I have a room I call a kennel that they stay in most of the time and I can not keep the smell out of there. What do you use to help with this? They are not using the bathroom in there they have a doggie door they use but it still smells.

Thanks in advance for all of your advise and believe any advise you have will be very helpful.

food

I have the same problems with the food allergy and was resort to cooking brown rice and lean beef for them to eat until I decided to try the Orijen dog food. I bought the trial size which comes in either salmon or chicken+turkey+fish to try and none of these cause any allery problems to them. They preferred the chicken+turkey+fish so that is what they have been on and it does wonders to their coat and best of all is that they have firm poop. Before they were on NB duck and potatoes, it was okay, no allergies, but they didn't really want to eat it and were losing weight.

I also buy the Grandad's or Primal Raw chicken blend that alot of people use to feed raw, but I cook these up and put some into their food and they really like it.

Natural Balance food

When Dozer's allergies got bad, our vet told us to try the single protien, single carb food like Natural Balance. We put him on the venison and sweet potato but things just got worse. We did allergy testing and found out he is allergic to white potatoes. We checked the NB label again and found it also contains white potato. On the label it will say potato fiber or potato protien. I'm not saying that is your dogs problem, but if he continues to have problems, you may want to try another one of their foods that doesn't have the white potato in it. When the allergy labs sent us the list of foods Dozer could eat, the only Natural Balance food he could have was lamb and brown rice. Good luck, I know how hard it is to figure out the food allergies!

keep the dog on the new food, things will get better

they are waht is called detoxing. It can last a few weeks to a month, just give it time.

I clean with vinegar water, take out the bedding and get some plastic perla beds and spray clean with bleach water weekly

Try....

an eco quest air sanitizer. I have these thru out my home and they help alot. Especially in my "dog room" in my walk out basement. I have windows, but they are glass block so no air movement...but now when you walk into my basement, you can't smell the "dog" and I can actually sit downstairs and enjoy watching tv without my allergies/asthma acting up.
