Need help...Frankie's lower gums have turned black and swollen...

I am waiting for a call from the vet to get in but thought I'd send a quick post. I was checking out Frankie's lower "snaggle tooth" as I do every so often.
She has this crazy sideways tooth I'm always hoping will fall out.

I noticed her gums have turned black behind her lower teeth and around the teeth as well and it looks swollen. No blood or fowl odor which is good.
I'm sort of freaking out, but she acting her normal crazy self. When I go to look at it she does pull away and she's been licking her paws lately I noticed too.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I know her gums we pink down there before. She's always had some black splotches like a lot of dogs have,
but this is pretty solid and swollen around her lower teeth.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks for the reply...

I hope she doesn't have an abscess from that tooth. There's been no bleeding or odor like I said.
It looks like a black scary growth. I'll find out tomorrow and let you know...thanks!
Hope your guys are doing great!

No idea...

But I hope it isn't anything. You would think that if something were stuck in there, or there was an infection, that she would be uncomfy? Maybe gently brushing around that tooth to see if you can dislodge anything?
Sorry, no help. I'll have good thoughts for Frankie!

I'm wondering if they are just swollen?

The gums might have been black before and being behind her lower teeth I never noticed until it was swollen.
I have an appointment for her on friday, I wish I didn't have to wait until then sad.gif
