Need help bulking up Porky!!

as we have posted on the Show forum we have survived our 1st real show we won 2 1st places on the sweepstakes but i did noticed, that he is quite small compared to all of the other dogs even a 7 month old was much bulkier than porks, I can not get him out of the 48 pound mark, no matter what I do or feed him.
most of the people at the show suggested that I Kennel him all day so he can keep that weight, but I really dont want to do that, does any one have any other suggestions ??

His diet consists of Royal K9 , with either or Cottage chesse, raw ground beef, raw chicken necks, tripe, we feed him twice a day.

any input will be appreciated

I

would not worry about what other people say. He looks fine to me. The standard is 50 pounds and he still has some growing to do. Different dogs grow at different rates. If you just feed him with no exercise he will just get fat. I would much rather have a dog who is a few pounds underweight but still has that nice pear shape as opposed to a dog who is just a blob.

48lbs sounds fine at his age. I have a 12 month old male that is 49.5lbs and I can't fatten him no matter what I do and he does his fair share of winning in the ring. Your dog will be fine.

The general rule is...

Take the dog's weight at 7 months old and add 10 lbs to get the dog's adult weight. He has a ways to go. I wouldn't worry about his weight right now. You don't want him to heavy as it will stress his joints.

He's still a puppy. Remember that the standard says "around 50 lbs. for males". He'll be fine.
