MRSI in ear
Submitted by mrhig2004 on April 21, 2010 - 12:08amMy boy had been diagnosed with an outer ear infection. Vet sent swabs for culture and it came back MRSI. I only know of MRSA as I am a nurse. He said it is staph "intermedius" From my brief research, this type(I think)is only in dogs, the other in humans. My vet will contact me later on as he is making a plan of treatment which he said will be difficult and the infection is resistant to almost everything!
Has anyone heard of MRSI in an ear, or skin?
