Submitted by strictlyred on May 7, 2010 - 9:35amHow bad is milk for dogs.. Charlie is on a medication..a liquid.. that he refuses to take..tried it with peanut butter..soft dog food, stew and his fav peanut butter cookies...nothing.
I mixed it in with about 1/4 cup of milk and he drank it all..
help!

But I believe too much will give them a stomach ache and possibly diarhea. You could also try mixing the meds with low sodium chicken broth or something similar. Good luck!
use goats milk....
whole milk is not good for some antibotics or other meds...it interfers with their use.....goats milk is easy to digest and wont casue loose stools,,,,,

How much medication does he need to take? I would suggest you get a syringe (without needle). You can dispense into the back of the inside of his cheek very quickly and all will be swallowed, so he gets the correct dosing. Good luck.
