Mammary tumor question.
Submitted by AmyandSophia on April 24, 2010 - 1:32amThe old Labbie girl I rescued a while back had three mammary tumors. They were removed a few days ago. Two were benign. One was a well differentiated Adena carcinoma. Any info on the cancerous one would be appreciated. Doc said they took the whole tumor, but wasn't sure it hadn't spread elsewhere. Anyone with experience with this type?

Amy, Oreo had some little tumors around her tail pocket and...
they were adenocarcinomas. They took them off as best they could and she lived another year and a half after that, but she was 9 at the time, so she was older anyway. Hopefully they got good margins and she will stay cancer free.

Spotty had an adenocarcinoma mass
His was in the small intestine. It was removed surgically and he recovered well. We did not do chemo.
The surgeon told me me that cancer could recur in another location, and ultimately it did. But Spotty lived for nearly 2 years after his initial diagnosis. He was 8 when he passed.
The one time I had this occur
was with my very first bitch, it was benign, and she was older than 6 or 7...about the size of a garbanzo bean?
