Malaseb wipes VS Malaseb Pledgets ?

Are they the same thing ? How well do they work on tear stains ? Thx

Re: Thanks ! I was just thinking

Sometimes the red that you see in the tear stains and sometimes on the feet can come from some ingredient in the dogs food. Not sure what you are feeding your dogs but we had a bitch that was on Iams and it had an ingredient that caused her saliva and tears to be red. she had tear stains and if she licked her feet, her feet turned red. We switched foods and cleaned the tear stains daily and they eventurally went away and we never had a problem. I currently feed Natural Balance Fish and Potato and have used the Duck and Potato and have never had tear stains and my dogs faces are white. So you might also try a food switch. I have also used Diamond Eye to clean the stains. It takes cleaning daily but they will eventually clean up. I hope this information helps you.

that because they are a antibacterial and antifungal they could work on tear stains also ?? since the red stain is bacteria and yeast ?

They are the same thing. I have never used them for tear stains. I have used them more for cleaning tails folds or nose wrinkle folds etc.

For tear stains....

There are a few things you could use. One product is called Angels Eyes, but the main ingredient is called tylan (I think) and I know you can also just buy that. I have not tried either of them but have heard good things about Angels Eyes. You can buy it at various websites.

A few other suggestions, do you do filtered (Brita) water or bottled water? Sometimes the minerals in your water can cause tear stains. Also, it could be caused by food. Many times a switch of food will take care of the tear stains. We give Deuce and Oliver either bottled water or Brita filtered water only, we never give them water out of the tap. We feed Natural Balance Venison & Sweet Potato and have never had an issue with tear stains.
