so if you do a search using the word "bloat" you should be able to find it...if not, let me know and I'll email you the story...don't want to exhaust everyone by retelling it on the forum.

My Herc bloated at 4 months. Vet tubed him and he stayed overnight at the clinic. He bloated again at age 10. It happened in the evening. I gave him Gas X right away but when I realized it wasn't going to work I raced him to the emergency clinic which was 45 minutes away. By then he was nearly gone so they came outside to the van and put him to sleep. :<( <br> I don't see it as a major problem in bulldogs but it sure is a scary and often sad one.

My Lola bloated. They put a tube and released the gas. But now I worry all the time. She eats really fast, so I got her a slow feed bowl which helps, but I just went to petsmart and they ahd a big ball that u put in her dish. Seems to work.

I loss a 1yr old many years ago that may have been to bloat...never got any confirmation of that but he also died during the night when nothing appeared to be unusual or "off"... I had never heard of bloat before that.

My female bully, Parris, was 6 years old. One night real late, she started dry heaving. I checked her stomach to see if there was any discomfort when I pressed on it, and she showed no signs. She was pacing back and forth though and appeared uncomfortable. I gave her a Pepcid AC antacid tablet and she settled down within a half hour and seemed to relax and go to sleep. We all went to sleep, and thought she was fine. I had figured she just had an upset tummy. My wife woke up at about 3 am and Parris was fine, snoring away. Then when we both woke up to get ready for work, she was dead on the floor. BROKE OUR HEARTS. Totally paranoid now. I check throughout the night to make sure my new bullys are breathing ok. TERRIBLE WAY TO LOSE A BULLY.

She was about 4 months
She blew up like a balloon. We gave her gas x immediately and nothing else was required. As I said, we caught it extremely early.
