I have posted before about my poor Dozer's skin condition and hair loss. When I did a search, I found pictures that Lindsey posted of her dog in August of 2005. If I didn't know better, I would swear those were pictures of Dozer. He looks exactly the same. I am curious to know what she found to help.

Thank you!
Thanks so much for responding. Dozer started on Nutro lamb and rice, but after all the skin issues started, we changed him to natural balance venison and sweet potato. His skin continued to get worse, so we planned to do allergy testing. We saw a specialist this week for soft palate surgery and he was going to draw blood for the VARL testing. When he saw Dozer, he took scrapings and said this is a staph infection but it's possible there are underlying allergy issues. He opted to treat the staph first before sending off the blood. At this point, we are treating with antibiotics and giving him fish oil supplements. We are taking him off the venison and sweet potato because we're hearing that more and more dogs are developing allergies to venison. Tonight we started changing his food over to Canidae grain free. It's 80% meat and 20% fruits and vegetables. Hopefully the combination of the medication and grain free food will do the trick. I'm glad to hear you were able to treat Mason. That gives me some hope!
Thanks again,
Lisa

Yes i'm still here
With Mason I switched his food and it helped. Is Dozer on a grain free diet? Mason is on natural balance fish and sweet potato. Mason's problem was for sure his allergies and when I posted he was on a food that had grains in it. After I posted that picture I had major allergy tested too so I knew exactly what he was allergic to.
