We have a 2 and 1/2 miniature English Bulldog who has been having some eye problems. It started about 6 months ago and we
brought her eyelashes to be plucked , after goint to the regular vet, a neurologist vet and an oplathmologist vet we are at our wits end!! She is our only baby and it devastates us to see her in discomfort. If I could get any input or support, it would be appretiated. thanks
what did the
opthalmologist say? does she have distichia or entropian or what? i would definitely take her back asap. if something is irritating or scratching her eyes & it isn't resolved, she could go blind. i wouldn't mess around when it comes to her eyes. do you have any ointment from the vet? i wouldn't put anything in her eyes that has steroid in it, cuz if she has an ulcer, it could make it worse. just neo-poly-bac or something like it might help until you can get her an appt. good luck!
the opthlathomnist said it
the opthlathomnist said it was an in-grown eyelash,. I don't believe it. I think it has to do with either allergies or ingrown eyelashes. She had been in alot of discomfort.
What are they doing for her?
What was the recommended treatment?
My Lola had distichia
we had them removed by the opthmologist when she was about 6 months old tere were alot. She is going on three years old now and her eyes have been red and irritated for the past few months too, so the other day took her back to him. He did find one lash that was not touching her eye and thankfully it poionts out like an eyelash. He said her eyes did produce enough tears, but not good tears, which include fat. So he put here on four med, one is neo, poly, bac, whit dexamethizone, which you canno tuse unless the eye has been looked at for ulcers, then he put her on two over the counter drops, one is an eye gel, either Blink, Genteal, or something like that, and Zaditor, which she gets 2-3 times per day, also another perscription which is Tacrolimus. These are all going to be be used for the next two months. The Zaditor definitely takes the redness away. The Tacrolimus is used to produce more tears. Hope this helps.
