I think Trace was just stung or bit
Submitted by Jacinda and the... on April 20, 2010 - 11:59pmHis face face and lower jaw looks red and swollen and I believe I can feel a hard lump on his lower jaw. His breathing is fine. I gave him 50 mg of benadryl and 20 mg of prednisone. Can anyone think of anything else I can do or give him?
He also threw up his food and oh yeah, we are under a tornado warning.

agree...just watch him at this point.
He should be fine with what you've given him. Its not worth wrestling over but if he will allow you to look at the chin with magnification you may be able to find a 'stinger' if it was an insect sting, and remove it with tweezers, but they also usually fall out after swelling reduces, and pred should help with that and any tongue/throat swelling that accompanies excitement/panting. Have a good and quiet evening!

i would say that is it jacinda, keep him calm and rest...sounds like you done all needed for now. not a good few days for you lately, im sure sorry!
