Came in today and Tinker was laying on her side sleeping. When she got up she absolutely wouldn't put any weight at all on her back leg. She is always pulling a muscle when she chases after something. There is an armadillo living under the deck and she is wild about getting it. Anyway, when she pulls a muscle, she will limp but still put weight on the foot. I have given her a pain pill. Going to keep an eye on her tomorrow and see if rest helps. Anyone have experience with ACL injuries. Does this look like one?

I'm doing that
Actually I have her blocked off with the x-pen in the front of the house. She isn't interested at all in walking. She wouldn't even get up to go outside to potty. No big deal, I'll just clean up the mess in the morning. Love those tile floors.

I called Lynse to see if she thought it would be a problem givin
That was my concern that a pain pill would mask the symptoms. I gave her a Tramadol HCL 50mg. These were pills that they had given me for Jez, but I never got to use them because Jez died that night. Lynse said it wouldn't cause a problem. I have been keeping her perfectly still which hasn't been a problem because she has no interest in walking. I know she is in pain because if she walks around she starts panting, which means she is hurting. Anytime she has ever pulled a muscle it is always her front leg and she just limps on it for a couple of hours. Allan did tell me today that he took her for a ride in the S10 pickup and she was fine, but when they got home she did jump out of the car. But he said she was still walking fine afterwards.

Re: I think Tinker may have a torn ACL, I've attached a video
I would definately crate rest her a couple days...out to potty on a lead only, and no wrastlin with the others. If she continues, after a couple days of strict crate rest. Definately get her to the vet for it to be checked.
Keep us updated.

Oh, that looks painful
yep, rest is best, try it for a couple of days and see how she does. Could just be a torn muscle.
Good luck with her, poor girl.

possible...
determining a damaged ACL is an experienced jusgement call made by taking history, examining the dog's movement and examining the dog itself. Muscle strains/sprains would be the better news to hear but ACL or CCL damages don't show on x-rays. What pain pill did you give...and I strongly suggest you don't give any more until doc has examined the dog as it can give misleading info re pain or movement interference...just R & R for 1-2 days and if no improvement, then vet exam.
