charlie is on his 3rd day of metronidazole and his poops are still very soft..almost runny. He has a 10 day supply.. He is drinking and eating.. I am getting so worried.. he was at the vets weds.

more worried about his losing fluid then runny poop....i would doing anything i could to get him to drink as much as possible.....canned food is 75% water.....increase the brown rice....that will help...

They firm the stool almost immediatly, after two pills it should be firm. Some people don't like to give them to puppies, but Pugsley started them when he was 10 weeks old. All of my guys have had some time or another.

What are you feeding him?
When mine have diarhea, I start them on a little rice and lean ground beef. He should be doing a little better by now.

Most a/b's take 48-72hrs to get fully going...
just be sure he's taking liquids/water and you can add some starch to his diet in the form of cooked rice or pasta if you wish.
