I have a 12-wk old female bullie, Coco, who has developed a penchant for peeing in the dog beds, including the one we keep in the crate. We are taking her out frequently (e.g. every hour) and consistently, and rewarding her to "Do It!" outside. We are also restricting water intake late at night. Still, during the day she will pee in the beds she shares with my other two bullies and at night she pees in the bed we keep in the crate. When she has to do her business, she will not fuse or get restless -- she will just pee on the bed in the crate and gladly lay in it! LOL Any experience, strength and hope with this will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, All!

Sorry but you have to remove the bedding completely
Same thing happened with mine at that age. I noticed he shares a bed with the others. Perhaps you could section him off so that the others won't lose their bed.
After you take it away and get on schedule with no more peeing in the house you could try to reintroduce the bedding and see how he does. I reintroduced at about 6 months and he was fine after that. Good luck!
No bedding at all? Should I take her out every few hours even at
Thanks, Onslow's Mom! It's good to know that eventually you were able to get him to stop. 6 months? That would be a real bummer, because my dogs love their beds!
Do you recommend no bedding in the crate at all? Not even a towel until she gets better at this?
What about getting up every few hours in the night to take her out? That seems like a step backwards since she was having a dry crate after staying in all night two weeks ago?
I'm surprised she doesn't mind lying in her own pee! She doesn't seem to mind it at all!
Thanks again!!

primo pads
A lot of them will not pee on a primo pad (or vinyl type pad) or you could try a cut piece of carpet if it kills you for her to not have a bed, (it kills me) also I have used raised pvc or kuranda type beds with no bedding material. Thats the only thing that has ever worked with one of my chronic pee'ers. The least amount of "nesting" they can do with a bed, the less they seem to feel the urge to mark it. This seems to be more of a behavioral thing then needing to go potty. Very frustrating, I know all too well.
Audrey did that too
It was VERY frustrating when she peed on the other dogs' beds. I did leave her blanket in her crate if she just slightly wet it, but I ended doing a TON of dog laundry! She did eventually grow out of it.

thanks, Cathy
Thanks for sharing that, Cathy. I'm glad Audrey grew out of it. I guess it takes what it takes, huh?

today's crate experiment
I crated Coco for 2.5 hours today without bedding of any sort and she was dry when I took her out. Will try that again when I crate her for the night to see what happens. Since she doesn't seem to mind sleeping on the tile floor in my kitchen, I'm guessing she will survive! :)
BTW, Coco found one of the beds in the other room that I forgot about and yes, she promptly peed on it! So I took up ALL the beds in the house for now. We'll see how it goes!
Thanks again, Every Buddy! :)

Last Night's Crate Experiment - Good news! PIC
Last night I crated Coco without bedding. She woke and fussed to go "Do It" every 2.5 hrs (which I think is on par for her age of 12 weeks). And I'm happy to report that COCO AND THE CRATE WERE DRY THIS MORNING! YAY! :) Thanks again, Every Buddy! Here's a pic of Coco:

Would love to see some more pictures on the general forum. Everyone will fawn over her. =)

She is soooooo cute! My
She is soooooo cute! My Stig did this as well until lately (he just hit 6 months). He still "marks" sometimes, but I think it had a lot to do with his age. I did initially take the bedding out of his crate (and I put him in a smaller crate so he didn't have a "potty corner"), and he didn't wet then, but he has since outgrown the smaller crate. When I switched him over to his "big boy" crate, I tried putting the bedding in it again, and he has only wet it once, and that was my fault (because I was in a benadryl induced sleep and didn't hear him barking until it was too late.) I jumped up to go get him to go outside, and he was standing on the side of his bed like he was trying not to step in his pee, which he used to lay in with no problem! So, hopefully, the no bedding thing will continue to help!
