I've been following the posts about using raw honey to treat allergies and want to try this with Dozer. He has been a mess this spring. How much and how often to you give the honey? Do you mix it in something? Thanks!
I had also read to go with the most local you can find. One of the doctors I work with keeps bees and he's only about 20 minutes from me. I'm hoping I'll be able to get some from him. I know how honest and trustworthy he is, so I know it will be good for Dozer. Good luck in your search ~ hopefully our dogs will all be itch free soon!

I've contacted Manuka Honey USA regarding the very same inquiry. The owner advised me to use the MOST local honey source for allergies. Makes sense being as whatever the bees are pollinating, and most likely the same flora as in the neighborhood. I'm still trying to find a source as the local famer's markets have not started yet where I live. She advised using the Manuka honey for other things such as gastro intestinal issues, hot spots, and the like. Good luck.

dip your finger to the first knuckle and let him lick it off, do this daily for 3 days, then twice a day for 3 days. Increase to 1/2 tsp in the morning and evening see how things go for a few weeks, if needed you can increase to 1tsp twice a day.
You want to start slow to make sure he doesnt have a reaction.

remember things often get worse before they get better
for me (myself) it took a few weeks to notice my allergies were less.

Thank you!
Thanks for the advice... you always have so much knowledge to share and I really appreciate it! How long does it take to see if this is helping?
