Ok, heres an update.
We took bella to Dr. Butchko, a very reputable bulldog vet near los angeles.
But she wasnt actually seen by him. She was seen by another vet that worked there.
I said I brought her there for a skin condition on her back. The Dr walked in and instantly saw what i was talking about and gave her a shot. I dont remeber what it was called exactly but think it was Vetasol or something that sounded similar to that.
He said it was a thing that this breed goes through this time of season and right before they start their heat. He said he was going to give me some meds for her and if they dont work, come back in a month or so.
He gave me:
1 bottle of Pred. 5mg take 1 every 24hrs
1 bottle of CLEM-MAS take 1 every 12
1 bottle of chewable skin care tablets ( fatty acids)
! bottle of Malaseb medicatd shampoo use once every 7 days.
So my question is, what is your guys experience with the stuff he provided? Do you think it will help her? She has been on them for 2 days now and I bathed her this am with the Malaseb but hair is still falling out like crazy. If you look at her back she looks like somekind of stray animal. I guess time will be the judge huh?
I agree with Ela1ne but also are you giving her any supplements
1 Pet Tab daily and 200 IUs vitamin E plus 25 mgs zinc.

Re: Heres a update on bellas skin from a couple posts down.
I have been a bulldog client of Dr. Butchko since the 70's and they definitely know their bulldogs. Give the meds time to work, it is not instant. If you dont see good results, go back and ask specifically to see a Butchko. In my experience, if they cannot get the skin issue resolved they will most likely refer you to dermatology. But again, give the meds time to take effect. The malaseb shampoo should help, but again it is not instant. It is not uncommon for bully's to have skin issues and certain times of the year are worse then others. The pred will help with any itching and it sounds like you are only on it for the short term.
Good luck and dont hesitate to go back if you are not seeing results. Different combinations of drugs work differently for different dogs.

I was giving her fish oil pills...
before i took her to the vet also benedryl. I believe the chewable pills I was given are the same as the fish oil pills (omega 3, fatty acids?) So I stopped giving her them once we started on the chewable pills. As for the benedryl, I have not gave her any for the past 3 days since I took her to the vet.
Her progress as of this morning seems to be ok i guess. Her coat is very soft everywhere but her back, she still itches like crazy and cant reach it to scratch it so she keeps planting herself right in front of me knowing that i will scratch her. The itch does not seem to bother her so much during the day, but when bedtime comes it seems to flare up.
She is still as normal as ever, still plays with our other dogs like normal. She has been doing alot of sleeping during the day due to the summer heat starting to come in to affect. But wakes up when it starts to cool down.
Unfortunately I was just laid off from my job, on the reverse side of that I get to spend all day with her so that makes it ok.

Give the meds a fair chance to work...
It may take 2-3 days until you begin to see some change. Re the hairs still falling out, remember that the roots/follicles have been "damaged" and the fact that they are shedding out is related to what was happening there last week or two. Let us know if she's showing any improvement in another 3 days.
