I came home and mason has these marks on him. What does this look like...We have been trying a new food for about a week now..on the weekend we tried a food that was just awful for him and he reacted really bad to it and I am wondering if these marks are the a result of that or if its something else? He is acting totally normal....Please help...I would be so greatful...

It's up to you..
If your dog has a sensitive stomach and tends to have irritable bowels, then you might want to do what the food manufacturers suggest. They say to do a gradual switch taking a week or so to introduce the new food.

Personally, I just start the new food.

dont get so cought up on Calories
feed the food he does the best on, and feed the amount that works for him. If the bag says 2 1/2 cups feed that until you see he either gains, looses, or maintains. then go up or down by 1/4cup.
I would go back to grain free, it takes a month to see a change for the better.
Good luck,

reaction to food. I'd change it tomorrow...
Have you tried any of the Natural Balance allergy formulas? I've got two dogs on the NB duck and one on the lamb.

Whatever you are feeding, look at the ingredients and pick a food with very different ingredients and a different protein source.
