Help with bleeding IDC

Frida has a large IDC on her back paw, its bleeding off and on. She was bit by a snake on Monday on her front paw and now has one there too but that one is not bleeding. she is on cephlaxin for the snake bite and wearing a e-collar. she has appointment tomorrow, is there any other home remedies can i do to make her feel better? I know it is bothering her because when i do remove the cone for feeding or drinking water she immediatly tries starts licking, heck she tries to lick it with the cone on. I have some malaseb, can that be used on a IDC?

I have been cleaning it and applying some panalog I have here for the past 2 days but it is still very swollen and bleeding. she snips at me if i try to touch it for too long so i dont think i could get her to soak it, plus the front paw is not suppose to get wet because of the snake bite.

thats ok with towel.....

soak it real good and hold it their let it drip into a pan...if in the tub just enough to cover her nails not her whole foot....you will get the evil eye but it will make her feet feel good.....try to get in the habit of doing it at least twice a week.....

thanks for your response. I tried getting her to stand in it, she refused so I wet some towels with the solution and held it there for 5 minutes, I guess not long enough huh? ok I will try to get her in the tub for 15 minutes, shes a porky and fights me to put her in the tub. happy.gif shes going to the vet in the morning hopefully they can give something more to help her out. thanks again.

I agree.

Make sure the Benedryl won't interact with any of the other meds she is on...a quick call to her vet will answer that for you.

Epsom Salts work wonders:-) Try to stand her in a shallow pan of warm water and the salts, maybe offer treats for a 15 minute soak?? That would be best for the IDC.

i would....

give her a couple of bendryl...and soak her feet in warm epsom salt...that will help relieve the itching and draw the swelling down....
