he was born that way...he was delivered that way???? mom did not cut the umbelica cord to close or who ever cut the cord???
either case euth is the best option/////being born with the intensines out side the body...their are other gentic problems...dont make this little life suffer...

something had to go wrong in the sac before birth...i never fixed a puppy with open intenstines...at birth if mom was a little ruff with the cord i would fix....but you ..are talking 15 yrs for me...maybe vets dont feel the same way....i would keep a close watch on this puppy....hope this works out well for you and the puppy is healthy...
If it was put back in by the vet it should be fine. Mine was and it is now 2 years old.....If they waited even an hour it will develop bacteria at the site and the pup will most likely die. Is it ok now?

I have had this occur twice. It has nothing to do with the cord being pulled on or cut too short at delivery. It is another midline defect in which the internal abdominal muscles did not close up correctly. Basically it a more severe form of umbilical hernia. In my case the vet was able to place a couple of sutures to close the skin of the abdomen. This can be difficult in itself because the skin is so thin and fragile that it can be hard to get the sutures to hold. You need to be careful that Mom does not lick the sutures out. This is only a temporary fix as usually only the outside layer of skin has been closed. The abdominal muscles are still open and the pup will have a very large umbilical hernia which will need to be fixed. My pups were placed on amoxi-drops "just in case" and did well without further problems
The vet will let you know the severity of it, if the vet thinks he will be fine, just have the vet re insert them. It has been done many times on pups, and human babies are born like that sometimes aswell. aslong as the intestines are still healthy, the pup should be just fine, but of course follow your vet's direction.
yes but answer this.....

Don't euthanize him, it is an easy fix,
The vet will let you know the severity of it, if the vet thinks he will be fine, just have the vet re insert them. Sending prayers to the baby.
