Head tremors

Hello,
I have 2 bulldogs, henna and layla. They are my babies and i would do anything for them! It just so happens that layla has a skin disease called ichtyosis and henna has hypothyroidism and these head tremors! I hate them! Her head shakes for about 30 seconds. If I call her name or distract her they will usualy stop and then start again. I have taken her to the vet and got blood work but everything was fine. She has another vet appointment tomorrow. She is completley coherent still will play with you and they happen on or twice every 8 or 9 months. I have read up on it and it apperas to be extremely normal in the bulldog world. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone elses babies and if so what did or do you do? Thank You

Head tremors

I have a question, those of you out there with your babies having head tremors would you of bought them if you knew in advance that they had this condition?

Reason being... we have a 2 n half old brendel bulldog (roxy) that when we bought was going to have one litter and keep one and sell the rest, well she has developed this. Would you go ahead and breed her and let people know that this might happen to the puppies???

Just asking

Calcium Deficiency (sp?)

When Cleo was 1 year old she was having head shakes or tremors...kind of looked like she had Parkinsons. We took her to one vet and they reccomended exploritory brain surgery. Luckily I did some research and found out that lack of calcium can also cause these symptoms. Cleo is now 9 and has no head shakingproblems at all. Just becareful not to give too much calcium it can cause Stones and some other issues.

Good Luck

I agree, Spike was having fly bite seizures

had blood work done, was going to take him to a neurologist, but then I changed his foor and they went away.  The food was too high in protein.

GOod suggestions.

I have to give Sophie sugar for her head shakes. I took a half slice of processed cheese, put the sugar in the middle, folded it up and gave it to her. She would eat it right down and the head shakes would cease.

Sophie's head shakes were completely food related.

I switched her food, they went away and have not come back.

Try giving her something sugary next time it happens...

like Karo syrup or ice cream. Sometimes it can be caused by low blood sugar.

What are you feeding her?

Both of my girls have had head shakes in the past. I have found them to be food related in my girls.
