Gus has had a hot spot. It seems to be healing up although it definitely got quite a bit bigger then the original spot.
Was curious once it seems healed how long it should take for the hair to grow back? I am sure it will but it is freaking me out thinking it won't go back or something.
Mike...we've been there...don't berate yourself
for the hot spot getting "so big so fast"...that's the nature of this beast and it can happen to those who have known them for years, like me. Dale's came up almost overnight and it was at the same time she was dealing with another health issue...coincidence?!! or low-resistance??!!

Re: Have not tried this product
I have used it for that type of stuff and works great for that. It says on it and people on here also have said to use it for Hot Spots as well but from what I seen I would definitely not recommend it for that. It seemed to do nothing at all while Gus' hot spot tripled in size at least. It disgusts me how big it got and makes me feel terrible.

Have not tried this product
but it may bre useful for fighting irritation/itchiness associated with allergies...whereas the hot spots are likely bacterial and need something more "medicinal" rather than "soothing"? I'm looking at what the name implies...

Re: Judgment call...
Yes that is what I am doing and also why I really don't know why anyone would recommend Calm Coat since that would keep it moist. I am using the Listerine, letting a sit and dry for awhile, then using a towel to pat on it to make sure, then coating with Gold Bond. I have been doing that about 4 times a day.

Judgment call...
I use it for a couple (2-3) days after it looks dry...to be sure it stays "dry".

Yes.....
After terrible results trying Calm Coat for a few days I have gone to the Listerine and Gold Bond method and it is doing much better. That leads into my next question.
Do you only use the Gold Bond until the sore seems healed or should you keep using it until the hair starts to grow in pretty good?

Usually 3-4 weeks depending on the
length of hair in that area, of course. Are you keeping the area dusted lightly with medicated powder?
