you need to have them removed....a friend of mine is a skin person and has one of those machines that remove hair from people....well i had at one time a dog like your mine was a husky and ingrown hair...we just removed it no more problem...its painless...

especially on the side of his legs where he would lay on them. I would sit there and pull all the hairs out with tweezer of my hands. Then i would keep the scapy crusty pussy area clean an dry, wash with a medicated shamooo etc..I kind of treated these areas the same as hot spots.

Note if this is the area your dog tends to lay on the most, or if there are other skin issues going on..various pyoderma, dermatitis etc..
