Great News about ellie mae and max

I took Ellie Mae and Max in for their fourth set of puppy shots today. The doctor is amazed at how well Max is doing. She says that it is very possible that he had a misdiagnosis of hydrocephalus. She says he may have had encephalitus(mis-spelled, im sure). Im not sure what that is but she said the antibiotics that he has been taking for his skin could have taken care of that also. Ellie Mae gained 5 pounds since last time and so has he so he is keeping up with her but he started out so small to begin with.
They are 13 weeks today and she is 17 pounds and he is 10.8 lbs. Im just so excited that he is doing this well, I had to share.
One scary thing though.....after we got home, I noticed about an hour later that Max was all swollen in his face, so I called the vet and they said to bring him back and they gave him an antihistamin and he was ok in about an hour. Wheeeeeeew....What an exciting day.

These babies are so much apart of my life now....I dont know how I got along without them!!!!!

reaction

I personally watched the doc put a note in his file....also she sent me home a bottle of antihistamine pills....just in case. I knew right away what was happening because I had a pug that had the same reactions. It is scary though.

Great news...and glad you didn't wait on the reaction to the vac

Before he gets any other vaccines be sure to remind the vet of his allergic reaction to today's shot. He may need an antihistamine injection before receiving anything else?

Congrats!

That is sounding pretty hopeful!
BTW - make sure they made a note on Max's chart about the reaction to the vaccine.
Hope the babies continue to grow fat and sassy! happy.gif
