Going to a non grain diet

Right now my dog is on the Royal Canin puppy formula. I am looking to switch him over to Innova or EVO Grain free. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Just looking for possible positives and negatives.

if you go to Innova website which is also Nutra products

they say that they do not reccomend thier regular Evo products for growing puppies-

also why do you want to go from a dog food that has grains to one that doesnt? If the pup is doing well on RC why change? why not transiton to RC puppy food or RC 24 or simialr versions..

I am not stating which you should do as thsi is often a topic that everyone has mixed feeling on.
I will say that i did use Innova products on my bullies from 7 months and up-
I fed other dogs we owner Innnova as well. I am a fan of this food, just not always for Bulldogs though.

Have you considered raw?

Just a thought and soooo very good for a growing puppy.

Wellness Core (Grain Free) has a warning....

that their grain free line is for dogs 1+ old....it is not for puppies.

I would be a little careful with...

the protein content of Evo for a puppy. If they get too much protein it can cause 'growing pains' in the legs. Taste of the Wild has a salmon sweet potato food that is 25% protein. I believe the evo beef is something over 40%. I always look for a food with 20 to 15% protein.
