Submitted by Anonymous on April 21, 2010 - 12:06amI wanted to let everyone know that I really appreciate all the feedback and information sharing that is done on this site. It is truly a blessing to have so many informed bulldogs owners that help each other with their questions.
I am the mother of Gracie and Jack. If you recall, I lost George, her brother in April, Gracie's eye seems to have opened up with the thyroid medication. I don't know why and the inflamation has decreased. She was to have eye surgery...it doesn't make any sense?
Since on thyroid medication Gracie's energy level has increased and it has only been a week. I will let you know how the alk phos looks in a few weeks. Oh, by the way, getting a new pup was the BEST cure for the blues. Gracie and Jack puppy play and it is so funny to watch...For being 12 pounds he thinks he is a big shot...he is so funny....
However, I look forward to reading this web site everyday. I always learn something new "everyday" from all of you....

Anne, my sharpie are on thyroid meds too
Dallas's face was always swollen and he was to have and he did have some eyelid lift to help him, prior to be being diagnosed with thyroid problems. Since he has been on the meds, he has lost 2 pounds, he was very big, and he looks absolutely wonderful. He has alot of energy too. The only thing is that he is still cold all the time. I keep a really warm blanet in his crate, and he loves to sun himslef on the deck. My other shar-pei has lost weight too, and has more energy, although hers comes in bursts. Good luck with yours!
