fluid in ear

My Bear has fluid in his right ear. I thought maybe I was a little careless when I was bathing him, but it's been four days, and I can't seem to get it dry. Can an infection produce water like fluid in his ear? Any suggestions of what to do?

yes it is possible for an infection to produce fluid

in the ears. It will usually be of greenish to yellow in color. (doesnt always smell though)And some ear infections are redish brown in color with thick waxy debri built up in the ears. The dog may scratch at the ear, rub against the ear or seem uncomfortable when they gt touched.
you can take a q tip and gently dry out the area with some alcohol and see if anything comes out in an alarming color..

You may want to try a ear flushing agent that contain a drying ingredient with acetic acid..ie DVM ear flush, Tri -ezeda ...even good ole walmart sells some small bottle called an ear flush that has a drying agent..look for malecetic or acetic..soemthing related or similar. This helps dry out the ear of fluid and as suggested put cotton balls in when bathing.
Good luck!

here is something....

always put cotton in ears when bathing....when using a ear flush put your finger at the base of the ear make sure all water is removed....
now put your finger at the ase of the ear and try moving the fluid up wipe with a cotton ball...just keep doing this....if their was an infection it would have a horrible smell....and you would see puss..
