Fleas
Submitted by karonelaine on May 18, 2010 - 9:24pmI dont konw what to do! I just saw a flea on loulou. Loulou almost die from a flea collar she can' take meds for fleas. I want to treat the yard at this point I am scared to ,for her face is always in the dirt. the vet said fish oil pills. she does take them every day. I also put apple cider vinger in her water. does anyone know anything that might help I do bath her in flea soap. I just want her not to have these thing this summer. here in texas it does get out of hand. also what can I use to treat my yard. that is safe for her?.

There is a product out by Eco Smart for the yard
We have Home Depot here in NY but I'm sure you can find it out by you. It's an insect spray that they say is safe for children and pets.
As for apply something to the skin. I think there are natural oils that can be used but with care I would do a test spot on the dog first before I applied anything all over. Do a search on this forum about natural flee treatments. Also I'm sure you will find things on line.

i use lyme for my yard....
to keep ticks and fleas away...if you know its going to rain treat your yard with some lyme....lavender is good also put a few drops on her collar....i also wrote a great flea spray in a few post below...this works great give it a try.....its all natural...

I always heavly lime my yard because of all the moss and green dirt. I have done that for years we never had andy flee problems.
That's what I love about this board you always learn something new.
