Feces question--------kinda gross

Bubba was diagnosed with stomach and colon ulcers back in May. He has allergies and a VERY sensitive stomach, sometimes he gets diarea if he eats anything unusual. I gave him 2 pieces of steamed broccoli and he had real loose stool the next 2 days and had 2 accidents in the home which is very very rare. Here is the question: This morning he had what looked like "snot" in his stool and the feces was almost brownish orange in color (maybe from the pepto bismol?) what could the snot looking substance be? It seems to happen on ocassion when he has stomach upset. Thanks

Don't feed him any people food. No veggies. No treats..

If he has a sensitive stomach, just stick strictly to his kibble and give no people food or cookies of any kind. If his stools get any more loose or more yellow, I'd put him on Hills Prescription i/d canned for a few days. It's very easily digested and will give the colon and tummy a chance to rest and heal.

Why did you give him broccoli if you knew he has a sensitive stomach?

usually when mine have the mucos in their stool

I give them metronidazole--clears it right up.

It is kind of scary to see that but recently...

Zoey had bad diahrrea and before, during and a little afterwards there was always mucous.....and a little blood from straining.

I am sure your little cutie is fine!

Mucus

could be due to the irritation in the intestines. Alot of time that is seen in people with colitis and such. And I have seen it in pups with diarrhea. If it continues I would check a stool sample.
