excessive peeing and pooping after spay

Wiggles was spayed Monday morning. I picked her up Tuesday. She has always been a regular girl. Out in the morning for a pee and poop. Out again when I get home for another pee. Then one more pee and poop before bed. Since her surgery she has squatted about 10 times in the house. She is not really peeing anything, just a couple of drops. Yesterday I came home from work and there were 6 piles of poop and 4 pee puddles in the house. I took her outside and she squated about 6 times and pooped twice. Brought her back in and she had squated four more times before I had finished cleaning up the whole mess. I'm pretty sure it is not a bladder infection because they checked her urine while she was there. Is this a normal reaction after a spay and will it eventually stop?

the squatting is normal

when we had our girl spayed, she would squat and only a drop or two comes out. We thought she must be in pain so we called vet and the vet said it's normal, after about a week, when it starts to heal, she's normal. Mine doesn't have the pooping alot problem.

intresting.....

i ahve never had one of my girls show the signs your talking about. pooping more she has to be eating more, or becasue of the spay incision could be tight and she is not letting her bowels clear out, urination may be a bit painful.
for one wekk after a spay my girls would be crate rested no jumping playing, i also regulated their feeding for stools would not be to hard.
i would talk to the vet, feed smaller softer foods, watch her water intake uti are not that uncommon after being spayed.

Sometimes the bladder gets irritated with a spay surgery

IMO it shouldn't happen but it does...either the opening the surgeon made was very tight and putting big fingers in there irritated something; I've even known of a bladder to be nicked by the scalpel during spay surgery (careless doctor) which caused lifelong weakness of urine retention but that's not what I'm supposing here..it could be that the pooping is from nerves at having undergone surgery/staying at the vets office. Was this dog given IV fluids during the spay surgery? That may be more liquid than she is accustomed to taking in for one day and the extra pees would be release of that fluid...a one-day happening. I would give it another day or two to see if it resolves and if not, I would speak with the vet again. They should be willing to do another urine test without an office visit charge...speak up about this!
