Excessive Panting

Gunther went for a little 15 min walk around 5, and now at 8:30, he has been panting ever since. The air is on in the house and it is cool. He is drinking and eating fine, peeing and poo is fine. Should I be alarmed? I put a cool washcloth under his arms and legs to cool him down. He is not drooling.

Thanks. Being a worried mom!

I wouldn't walk him in the evenings

the pavement/sidewalks are still very warm. First thing in the morning is best for summertime walks. Keep him on grass for potty breaks.

I keep a spray bottle of water in the fridge...

and spray mine to dampen the fur and then blow a fan on them to really cool them down.
