Any ideas, my vet is lost, and its getting worse.... Hes on Science Diet Perscription D/D duck. He only eats the D/D, he has been on it since November. We give him no other treats. He also drinks only culligan water. The vet has used a black light to find fungus (negative), and negative skin scrapping. We also use heart guard and frontline. We use an Oatmeal shampoo (vet solutions) we used to use the Resichlor that didnt help, so we stopped and he got better. We also used to bathe him in ketoclor (sp). I guess that they just dont understand how miserable he is, he nearly falls over when you pet him b.c he thinks he is going to get scratched. He is two and his brother Duke is fine, its just Earl with the problem
Thank you for your help.....

My bulldog is 2 and she came down with something that looked very similar. I picked her up from the kennel and bathed her with human shampoo. I am not sure if she got it from something at the kennel or the shampoo. My vet put her on an antibotic for 14 days and she seemed to think it was an allergic reaction to the shampoo. I also give her benedryl everyday depending on her symptoms sometimes she gets 50 mg and on the bad days 100 mg but she gets it everyday. I also wipe her off with babywipes everyday when she comes in from the outside. The antibotic also cleared up her tear stains she is white everywhere now.
My vet
has Saddie on Oxyderm soapless bath wash 2-3 times a week and Simiflic (msp) when her skin acts up. She has allergic reaction to maybe the pollen, twice a year and she bubbles up on her back, looses lots of hair and itches really bad. This ends up in a secondary infection which I treat with the above. It works really well and clears up within a few days. Good luck with your baby.
Re: English Bulldog Skin Problem
Have you tried changing the detergent you wash his bedding in ?
or the solution you clean floors with where he lays it may be a contact allergy.
