Could allergies cause

an eye to swell a little? Stanley i having some serious allergies right now with some skin issues and I noticed today he was squinting. When I looked at his eye it looks like the white part is definitely a little swollen when I compare it to the other one. it's only in one eye though and it does look a little red. its tough to see because he has such dark eyes. And before anyone says check his eyelashes and maybe he has entropian he does not. His eyes were examined last month. Im guessing it is either allergies or he poked it or something. thanks for any input

Morgan's lids swell because of allergies

But, I've never noticed the whites of her eye swelling.

But if it isn't looking like distichia or entropian....

It could be a foreign object like a piece of dirt stuck in the eye. Do as Olivia says and flush the eye. If you have Terramycin, put a thin strip in the eye two times daily for a few days to see if that helps clear the issue up. If not, it may be allergy related.

thanks

it just concerned me being in one eye only but it makes sense. He is having terrible allergies right now since the pollen in our area is horrible. im starting to see some yeast on the toes and some hot spots have appeared but the one eye kind of worried me

Are having that issue as we speak! I just went today and bought a different food for Sophia. I purchased Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish. She was on it before but it became too costly for me so I switched her. Now I am back on it and look forward to Sophie's allergies to clear up.

I will try that. It just seems to be the white right up around the eye itself. Im thinking it has to be that or he got something in it while out playing. The grass did just get cut yesterday

Possibly...

Though I've usually seen the part in the corner of the eye swell with allergies. You may want to flush (can't hurt) with eyewash. Go from the inner corner to the outer in the lower lid (not against the eyeball). happy.gif
