He just had his palate trimmed on Thursday--is this part of the healing process? He also has some pink spots in any slobber he coughs up. The vet told me he will sound funny for a few days, but as long as his gums are a healthy pink color and there's no high temp he should be fine. Anyone have experience with this?
Xena did that.
She had her palate trimmed and nostrils opened about a year ago. I was so worried about her because I thought she sounded even more "phlegmy" than usual. There was a bit of bleeding and she wouldn't even try to bark for about two weeks. When she did, she didn't sound the same. It took about three weeks before I relaxed and exhaled with her. Good luck!

Sounds normal
The congestion is probably from the annestesia.
How is Cartman doing today?
I hope he is feeling better and that his conjestion is clearing.

He is feeling better--improving each day
He still sounds congested, but there's no fever and since he's in good spirits I'm not going to worry about it much. Although he's congested, his breathing does sound much better. Also, we he breathes, his nose doesn't 'suck in' like it used to--it's all just smooth, easy breathing. It's awesome.
